Activating Space with Meaning and matter

  • Corning Museum of glass 1 Museum Way Corning, NY, 14831 United States (map)

This intensive class will explore innovative applications of flameworking for sculpture and installation-based artworks. Beginning with fundamental flameworking techniques, over six days, participants will be encouraged to consider, investigate, and respond to working sculpturally. Drawing on the unique resources that The Corning Museum of Glass has to offer, students will experiment with glass and mixed media, to seek out and activate spaces found in and around The Studio environment. This class is open to all skill levels in glass and artists from other disciplines are welcome.
